This uniform frock coat was worn by Tennessee Confederate Captain Charles W. Frazer; the coat has three rare Confederate staff buttons on each sleeve. There are sixteen brass eagle buttons on the front.
The coat shows extensive wear and may have been worn at the Battle of Belmont. The captain’s collar insignia have been removed, suggesting that it was also worn while Frazer was a prisoner at Johnson’s Island.
